Pampers for Preemies

Touch is the first sense a baby develops and is the most active sense connecting them to the outside world. For 1 in 13 babies born prematurely in the UK, their skin can be up to 2x thinner than that of full-term babies, leaving it so sensitive every touch can feel huge.

Touch and parental presence have a powerful influence on preemie babies' development such as heartrate and breathing, sleep quality, brain development and pain response. However, parents often face limitations in touching or holding their fragile premature baby.

To help preemie babies have the best possible start in life, we want to support parents to feel more involved in their baby’s care through comfort holding and nappy changes. Together with Bliss, the leading charity for babies born premature or sick, Pampers is working to touch the lives of premature babies and their families, through the donation of Pampers’ smallest nappies which provide comfort and protection for their delicate skin, to providing tailored support to empower parents and families in their premature baby’s care.

Help Pampers help premature babies

Baby feet

At three sizes smaller than a regular newborn nappy, Pampers Preemie Protection are specifically designed for premature babies weighing less than 1.1lb (500g). Over the years, we have donated hundreds of thousands of these nappies to premature babies via UK hospitals, and we want to make sure that Pampers Preemie Protection nappies are accessible for every premature baby in the UK.

If your hospital would like to order Pampers Preemie Protection nappies please email the Pampers team at pampers.preemies@sykes.com
